About the event

SESSION 1: "Big Block Nutrition"

This session will reviews the essentials of energy balance, popular diet approaches and how energy balance ultimately determines the effectiveness and sustainability of any weight management or performance nutrition plan.

We will do a surface level review of how and why common diet approaches work, why they stop working and why there is no “best” diet for everyone.

Finally, we will ensure attendees understand take away strategies that can be actioned immediately in order to begin the process of finding sustainable approaches that meet their needs and lifestyle.

SESSION 2: Adaptations & Programming Considerations for Cardiovascular Exercise & Endurance Activities

This session will dive into the primary mechanisms that drive improvements to cardiovascular conditioning and performance.

Explanations on how to implement non-static heart rate zone training will be explained and easy to implement programming approaches for all levels will be discussed along with a take home support documents to easily allow individuals understand how and where to place various types of aerobic and anaerobic exercise into their overall lifestyle or fitness schedule.

SESSION 3: Exercise interventions for the back pained fitness enthusiast

This session will teach individuals experiencing repeat acute back pain or chronic back pain how to utilize and implement spine safe exercise prescriptions.

Topics will include common mechanisms of back pain, identifying pain triggers and how to use spine friendly exercise strategies to improve pain tolerance & build fitness capacity.

Finally, we will include sample “plug and play” exercise routines in a take home document package that can be implemented into virtually any fitness or sport performance routine to ensure the “big blocks” of spinal health are being met on a consistent basis.
