powerlifting & strength sports
POWERLIFTING, OLYMPIC LIFTING, STRONGMAN/WOMAN COMPETITIONS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE WITH THE TEAM AT SYNERGY.
OVER THE PAST 10+ YEARS, OUR MEMBERS HOLD MULTIPLE NATIONAL RECORDS, HAVE MULTIPLE PROVINCIALS CHAMPIONS & HAVE HELPED PRODUCE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AND WORLD TEAM MEMBERS.
Our team handle the full time coaching, programming, injury management and competition preparation strategies for dozens of lifters every year for Canadian Weightlifting Federation (CWFHC) Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU), as well as Canadian Powerlifting Federation (CPF) sanctioned events. Many of our lifters also take part in other events, such as the Chad O’Quinn memorial powerlifting meet at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown (CFB Gagetown) or the East Coast Games. For 10+ years, head coaches Chris Schnare, Trevor Pardy, Jason Rudy & Jake Mason (intern coach) have worked extensively and closely as competitive lifters and with competitive lifters.
We work with brand new lifters who were first introduced to the barbell with us, and others who came to us already holding National records or close to doing so with many years of lifting or competing under their belts. As coaches, we take the same approach to develop and improve ALL athletes in our programming, despite their level of experience.
Powerlifting and Olympic lifting are unique sports, ones that place the body under incredible amounts of external load and stress with minimal room for error to occur. Setting up for a clean and jerk or walking out a squat when going for a personal record attempt with a 1RM load is both exhilarating and intimidating all at once.
One of our favorite things about these strength sports is that they do not discriminate- meaning, you can be short, tall, lean or carrying extra weight, and there is still a place for you to find a competitive environment in these sports. Although you are competing against others if you choose to compete in a sanctioned or unofficial meet, in the end, you are chasing your own personal records and pushing your body to limits it has not yet experienced.
Full time 24 hour facility access, a wide variety of equipment a lifter needs to succeed and full time coaching and programming are all provided for our lifters.
At its roots, Synergy was created by a serious lifter, for lifters. This mentality has never been lost as the company has grown and evolved to include many more services, a larger coaching team, and education and experience to a wide array of individuals whom seek our services.
