"It is with great respect I write this for Chris Schnare, Director at Synergy Training Center. I met Chris in January 2019 at a seminar he was leading that evening. I actually booked it last minute to spend the evening with my daughter as she was attending.
I was at a point of a bleak situation with chronic back pain and no solution for relief. I had no idea that I would meet such a knowledgeable professional that also had back-rehabilitation programs at his facility. It was clear to me as soon as Chris and I met I had to join his program. We literally started from the beginning training me to walk again only this time correctly.
With Chris’s knowledge and coaching I have met numerous goals. To name a few, better balance, less pain, less anxiety about pain, better sleeping patterns, handling flare ups or set backs in a positive way knowing now they are only temporary, and able to travel more comfortable
My Physiatrist in Fredericton and Moncton are so impressed that they are referring other patients to Chris. I also hear these comments from my Physiotherapist and Chiropractor “you will never get hurt in Chris’s program so please continue what you are doing as you are showing much improvement”.
Chris will and does readjust as required and is willing to help with any concerns or fears. This has definitely changed my lifestyle and long-term goals. The gym will be a lifer for me.

“I was introduced to Chris and the team at Synergy about three months after I underwent back surgery, due to a car accident. I had four rather large screws added to my spine. The first three months post-surgery were restricted and sedentary with no bending, twisting or lifting.
Prior to my accident I would have described myself as active and fit but all from outdoor activity and lifestyle. I had not participated in a gym environment in any formal way and if I was honest, the gym/weight environment was generally overwhelming and ‘not for me’. However, I was motivated to get back to an active life and I needed to gain some confidence. Even in terms of what I could do and how strong I could be. My surgeon was very pleased with the surgery and gave me a thumbs up to get back to activity after the initial three months. My husband, physio and osteopath suggested I start with the gym in order to gain the confidence and strength that I felt I lacked. I walked into Synergy and that day changed my life.
To say Chris knows his stuff is an understatement. The program, the attention to my needs, the exercises, the motivation, the atmosphere, the comradery are all part of the bigger picture, which is to be healthy and happy. Chris and his team cater to my needs as an individual even when I’m surrounded by other folks including competitive athletes. I recently went to see my surgeon for my one-year visit. He told me that he has not had a patient recover so well and that is so committed to getting stronger, except for his professional athletes and they have a team behind them. I responded that yes, I have been very motivated to get strong, I have been making the effort in terms of time commitment and focus, but I also do have a team. I have the Synergy team and I could not have asked for a better group in my corner. I truly believe that if you are willing to put the effort into your recovery, or achieving a goal of getting fitter and stronger, then the Synergy team is second to none.”

"The I joined Synergy as a fairly seasoned powerlifter, nearing what I figured was the top of my potential. After watching me lift and deciding on the best way to communicate with me as an athlete, Chris was able to find the weak links in the chain and turn them into strengths. As a result, my total over three lifts has increased 170 pounds in less than a year and I am on track to break more national records in the coming months. Sometimes I think he’s more excited about that than I am!
A real benefit of working with Chris is his real base of knowledge, both academic and hands-on. As a competitive athlete himself, he is able to temper his expertise on how the body moves with his experience in the heat of things. All the while, still being able to find the best system of cues and programming. In my opinion, this is what puts him head and shoulders above any of the coaches I’ve had in the past.
Being a member of Synergy Training Center is like being a part of a family. It’s not like a franchise gym, where members are simply income. Chris, Trev, Christina, and Jake legitimately care about the process and progress of the people training there. I could never imagine going anywhere else."

“I went to see Chris at Synergy after speaking with many strong recommendations from many of my friends. I was skeptical at first because I had given up on thinking that anyone would be able to help me with my back pain. It took me months of consideration before I contacted Chris and now, I wish I had messaged him sooner. I used to train six times a week and had to completely stop for months because my doctors and physiotherapists advised me to rest after my injury. After many assessments from many different health professionals, no one was able to identify where my pain was coming from. I started to believe that the constant pain was in my head and it was debilitating. Chris’ assessment was very thorough and he made sure to explore all the areas of my injury and any related history. He explained everything to me in order to educate and inform me on my body and its functions as well as educate me on my injury and how it affects my day to day movements. It has been less than three weeks since I had my first assessment and I am happy to say that most days I have no symptoms of my chronic back pain and on days I have small flare ups my pain is completely manageable. “Prior to joining Synergy, I was an active person. I lifted weights twice per week and ran 3-4 times per week, typically a 5 km distance. I was constantly sore, had a stiff neck, or a muscle spasm at various locations in my back. I blamed this on a nagging neck injury, and on years of competing at a National level and Division 1 school in the US for cross country and track and field. Within a few months of training at Synergy, my strength, posture and overall physical comfort improved. Although I had lifted weights for fifteen years, there were minute errors in my form that accumulated throughout my workouts causing the problems I had been experiencing.Chris was meticulous with correcting my form. He was so adamant about perfecting the fundamentals of each exercise. This meant that I relearned all the basics- including push ups. What was remarkable was how much stronger and how much less pain I was in from the fine tuning of these movements. Chris developed a program tailored to my running goals. I’m happy to say that I have surpassed my days of uncomfortable short runs, and have now completed two full marathons over the past 2 years. I feel stronger, healthier and happier with my training.”
